I am neither in the Middle East nor am I an Arab, not even a Muslim. I am an Indian, staying in India. Nor did I have any sympathy for Saddam Hussein, who was a tyrant.
However, I felt deeply and personally insulted about the way the Americans humiliated him. This means nobody is safe, even in his homeland against the American jackboot unless his country has weapons of mass destruction. Note that the United States has not dared attack North Korea.

Some carry on blaming the whole world for the misery of the Iraqi people and their suffering under the ugliest regime in modern history. Some blame the US for their support to that regime. Some used the regime as a fight against Israel, while the Arab world was under political and military anesthesia. In reality � whom should we blame? I say the Arab League.
The Arab league opted not to interfere in the internal affairs of an Arab country. However, the Arab League should have interfered very strongly in order to defend the Iraqi population. The people of Iraq lived for a long time under the command of an Iraqi thug and in deep fear, misery, agony and complete darkness.
Yes. It is time to revamp the Arab League, liberate it from its stagnant tradition and make it accountable not to the regimes of the member countries, but to the people of the member countries.
It is the time and the opportunity for the Arab League to get involved in the freedom of the Iraqi people, transfer them from the dark days and lead them toward stability and full democracy.
